Summer vibes - Colourful studio

A 33 sq.m. apartment in Neos Marmaras, Halkidiki was renovated to be used as temporary accommodation, transforming it into a space that combines elegance, functionality, and summer mood.

The apartment's design responds to the challenges of a limited space, aiming to accommodate up to a family of four. The first step of the solution was the demolition of partition walls to expand the space, offering greater freedom of movement and diffused natural light. In their place, a through iron construction with a dual character was designed. Initially, it serves as a 'back' for the sofa-bed which faces the sea view and Porto Carras hotel. Simultaneously, this construction acts as a dividing element between the double and single bed, offering privacy. Under the single bed there is a sliding additional bed, allowing family members to sleep in a row, reminiscent of traditional single-room summer houses.

Despite the limited area, the apartment serves all daily living needs. The functional zones — kitchen, dining area, living space, and sleeping area — are distinctly defined. Adequate storage spaces have been integrated into the design, offering comfort and organization.

The apartment's color palette is inspired by summer. The furniture features bold shades of terracotta, blue, yellow, and mint, which balance with white monochromatic surfaces. The blue floor is a reference to the sea, while the bright yellow ceiling evokes the sun, creating a permanent summer setting. The bathroom, following the logic of the rest of the apartment, uses mosaic tiles reminiscent of beach sand grains.

The apartment balances between aesthetics and practicality. The space design exudes a sense of relaxation and carefreeness — exactly what one would expect from a summer accommodation in Halkidiki.
